Hiring a general contractor is a big decision. When you are making your selection, you need to know that there is a process in place to meet your needs throughout your project. At Hanto + Clarke our process is very important to the success of our projects and to the relationships we have with our clients. Each step is designed to ensure the quality of our product, the efficiency of our progress, and trust and communication between us and our clients. We are only satisfied when you are, and we are dedicated to excellence in each and every project.

GETTING STARTED

When hiring a general contractor, you want to know what you are getting. At Hanto + Clarke, our process ensures you are kept informed throughout each phase of your project. Let's get started!

When a client calls us for the first time, we're really hoping that we're the first point of contact for them. We want them to have just come up with the idea that, all right, it's time for us to build a commercial building and we're ready to go. So, we help guide clients through the entire process from start to finish, from concept to handing over the keys. You know, we understand the steps that need to take place to assist clients to get to their ultimate goal of building a facility. We can assist them with site selection, we have contacts with realtors, we have contacts with financing agencies, we have contacts with engineering companies, architects, everybody from start to finish. And, we like to be the lead point of contact for the client throughout that entire process just so we can guide them step by step and know the things that they need to do every step of the way to make sure that they're ultimately going to get exactly what they want out of their project. And so, you know again, we just want them to be the first person that they call.

CULTIVATING YOUR VISION

Our first step when we begin a project is to meet with you so we can see your vision for your project.  Communication is a key component to making your dream a reality. Together, we will outline a plan for a timeframe, budget and expectations.

It's basically, you know, three things we want to know is: what is your vision for the project, what do you want the building to be, what are you going to be doing there, what are your priorities for that building, what is your budget for that building, and then also what is the schedule that you need to be in it by.

PLANNING YOUR PROJECT

We manage your project every step of the way with your vision in mind. From the outset, we will provide you with a plan to meet your expectations. Our goal is to make your dream a reality! We can see it!  Can you?

So a lot of times, clients come in to meet with us and they have no idea what questions to ask. So we're going to be very upfront and tell them, "Here's what we can offer you,” after our initial meeting. And for that, it's going to be a lot of times after we understand what it is that they are building. We can provide them with a reasonable budget based on recent dollars per square foot of similar facilities that we've constructed. We can also give them a very good idea of what the timeline is going to be for their project, from design, to permitting, to construction itself, so that they can have reasonable expectations for when things need to get started, how things are progressing, and when they can realistically be done.   
 
We can also help based on where they are in the process. We can tell them what their next steps of action need to be, whether it's contacting an engineer to do some preliminary investigation or perhaps scheduling meetings with various architects to select an architect and proceed with the design phase of the project. Or if it's simply they have a set of plans already, and we can give them a proposal based on those plans that they've developed.

MEETING EXPECTATIONS

Meeting your expectations starts with us understanding your project is likely the most important thing in your life right now. We treat it with the same degree of importance in our office. Once you have gone through hiring a general contractor, you want to rest assured your project goes smoothly.  Hanto + Clarke is dedicated to your goals.

So in order for us to ensure that we're meeting your expectations, communication is key for us throughout the entire project. And how we accomplish that is in a variety of different avenues including, you know, our preference is that we meet with you face to face on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. So we can actually either meet at our office or meet at the job site to review the project in detail and discuss where we're at as far as the overall schedule is concerned, how we're looking as far as your budget, and show you that our attention to quality is on par with what you would expect from us as a contractor. We're also always available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week via phone or text.   
 
We will always pick up the phone for you and if we don't, we can assure you we're going to get back to you as quick as possible because we know that this is likely the most important thing in your life at the time and we're treating it the same on our end. And of course, we're always available via email. We'll send certain documents to you just to make sure that you're up to date with the most recent information on the project. But we really prefer the face to face communication and phone call if that can't be accomplished.

VIEWING PROBLEMS AS OPPORTUNITIES

Throughout the course of your project, we recognize that things may not always go as planned.  We pride ourselves on taking every situation as an opportunity to quickly create solutions and continue communication with our clients.

As you can imagine, you know, things are going to arise during the course of a project. That's just the nature of construction, and one of the things we pride ourselves in is not viewing them as problems but viewing them as opportunities. One of the reasons we're here as the general contractor is to handle those things as they arise. And every opportunity that does come up during the course of construction, we address immediately, we inform you as the client, and we come to you not just with the problem but with the solution as well. So, we pride ourselves in pursuing those issues until you're completely satisfied with the resolution that we determine.

HANDING YOU THE KEYS

Handing our clients the keys is one of the best days we experience as commercial builders. We celebrate with you. But that is not the end of our relationship. We are available if you have any questions even after the completion of your project. Your satisfaction is our satisfaction.

One of our favorite days on the project is the day we get to hand over the keys to you, and you get to walk into your new building. We can assure you though that that day will not come until you're completely satisfied. Every project that we do has a one year warranty and we pride ourselves on being just as accessible during that one year after the project as we were to you during the project.
